PERFORMANCE ENSEMBLE
AGES 14 - 18
Wednesdays 4:45pm - 7:30pm*

Wednesday 16 August – 20 December (no class 18 October)
Guided by award-winning theatre maker and applied theatre practitioner, Claire Glenn, young, emerging artists will be given the space to create the work that they want to create, by responding to provocations to ignite the devising process.

The Performance Ensemble will take risks, gain insight into theatre development process, refine their performance skills as individuals and a group, and experience working together as a theatre company. Throughout the year, the ensemble will experiment with improvisation, scene work, devising, character development, writing, movement, vocal work, monologues and more! They will investigate world issues and current events, tell stories, analyse scripts, and, perhaps most importantly, make, rehearse and perform their very own, original show.
Conundrum’s Performance Ensemble promises to provide fun and challenging theatrical experiences that will produce dynamic, confident and courageous theatre makers and performers.

The Performance Ensemble is currently working on a production of Motor-mouth & Suck-face: An Apocalyptic Love Story by Anthony Crawley which will be performed 15 - 17 December 2023.

“Shut up and listen. In exactly one minute and fifty-three seconds the world is going to end. But that’s not important right now. What’s important is how this all began, because if you can understand that. If, by some miracle, the window in your frontal lobe opens and clarity wedges its sweet toe through the dark door of apathy, then maybe, just maybe, there’s hope for us all in this knee deep, bullshit-ridden, sludge-pile of an existentialist state we so loosely refer to as life. My name is Blasko Tupper. Prepare to die.”
– Blasko Tupper
